Boca Raton Florida, July 25, 2002: The deHoernle South County Branch of the American Red Cross awarded a commission to artist Rich Smukler to honor Libby Dodson at “The Moulin Rouge” Sizzling Summer Ball to be held Saturday, August 10, 2002 at The Embassy Suits Hotel, Boca Raton. Ms. Dodson is being honored for her significant and unflagging charitable support of the Boca Raton community, and specifically to the local chapter of the American Red Cross. Artist Rich Smukler has prepared a dramatic and unique fused-glass wall-hanging which will be presented the night of the event. The piece, according to the artist, “represents an abstract expressionistic landscape which incorporates colors and symbols dear to Ms. Dodson.” Rich Smukler, a resident of Highland Beach, with studios at 1721 Avenida Del Sol, Boca Raton, exhibits locally at Art Fusion Gallery on E. Palmetto Park Rd. and at The Galleria of Sculpture on Worth Ave., Palm Beach. The artist’s works can also be viewed at www.rsglassart.com. The event will feature entertainment by La Mystique, showcasing “Lady Marmalade.” Guests are encouraged to come in costume with prizes awarded the night of the event. Other notable guests will be Zara Kane (general chairman), Andrew Pietrak (co-chairman) and Mr. & Mrs. Terry Donoghue (honorary chairmen). |
